The B vitamins are necessary to:
· Support and increase the rate of metabolism
· Maintain healthy skin, hair and muscle tone
· Enhance immune and nervous system function
· Promote cell growth and division, including that of the red blood cells that help prevent anemia
Our B-Complex formula contains high levels of B Vitamins.
Vitamin B-1 (thiamine): Deficiency in this can result in weakness and pain in the limbs, periods of irregular heartbeat, and edema (swelling of bodily tissues).
Vitamin B-2 (riboflavin): Deficiency in this can result in ariboflavinosis. Symptoms may include cheilosis (cracks in the lips) and high sensitivity to sunlight.
Niacin (B-3): Deficiency in this can result in pellagra. Symptoms include aggression, dermatitis, insomnia, weakness, mental confusion, and diarrhea.
Vitamin B-6: Deficiency in this can result in microcytic anemia, depression, dermatitis, high blood pressure (hypertension) and water retention.
Folic Acid (B-9): Deficiency in this can result in macrocytic anemia and elevated levels of homocysteine. Deficiency in pregnant women can lead to birth defects.
Vitamin B-12: Deficiency in this can result in macrocytic anemia, elevated homocysteine, peripheral neuropathy, memory loss and other cognitive deficits.
Biotin (B-7): Essential for thicker and stronger hair and nails. Can also help rid children of “cradle cap” and help improve blood sugar control in diabetics.
Pantothenic Acid (B-5): Deficiency in this can result in acne and paresthesia.
Choline: Is an essential nutrient, and must be consumed through the diet in order for the body to remain healthy. Choline deficiency may play a role in liver disease, atherosclerosis, and possibly neurological disorders.
Inositol: Involved in a number of biological processes, including:
· Concentration control
· Cell membrane potential maintenance
· Serotonin activity modulation
· Breakdown of fats and reducing blood cholesterol
Para-Aminobenzoic Acid (B-10 or PABA): Benefits for fatigue, irritability, depression, scleroderma (premature hardening of skin), patchy pigment loss in skin (vitiligo), and premature grey hair. Oral supplements can also make the skin less sensitive to sun damage.
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, take one (1) tablet daily.
